Easter memories and how to tie-dye your eggs

Posted by

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. My family and I love decorating eggs. One of my favorite memories of egg decorating is when a  friend of mine, that used to babysit my girls, showed us a new way to color Easter eggs by placing them in a colander, applying egg dye in droplets, and then spinning the colander. We have used this method of tie-dye egg dying every year since.

I love the sense of a new beginning, the fresh air, flowers, and beautiful colors that arrive with Easter – Not to mention the end of winter, which I thought would never end this year.

Easter dinner is my favorite because of its simple compared to other holidays. It never feels rushed. It is also one of the rare occasions that my family will all attend church together without interruption from sports and other activities. I am happy that it gives my family the opportunity to realize the true meaning of the holiday.

As another part of our Easter traditions, we take a family portrait in front of our house after church. Someday I am going to collect all the photos and frame them.

And who can forget Easter egg hunts? We love Easter egg hunts!

Take time to enjoy your family this holiday. Happy Easter!
