Can We Talk?

Posted by

I guess I am automatically under the assumption that if you have twins you are happy to meet another mothers who have twins or perhaps that’s just me? But it can’t be. I love talking about my twins, I actually love talking about all my kids because I am proud of them in one way or another because they are each different, yes, even the twins!

When I found out I was having twins, after I got over the shock I mean, I though wow! what a unique gift. I will practically be in a group all of my own…..or maybe not. Three months after I found out I was having twins I found out my neighbor, on the same block, was having twins. Yep, you guessed it, twin girls. Needless to say we grew out of our house so we moved to a new neighborhood with twin girls up the road and twin girls across the street. Both sets of twins were about 8 and 10 years older but still…it’s ironic. Then my twins started school and there are 5 sets of twins in their elementary school in their grade alone. I began to think that this isn’t such a unique little group.

Anyway, my point is I have run into quite a few twin parents and some love to talk about having twins, other siblings and everything in between and some don’t want to talk at all. It’s almost as if you invaded their privacy by telling them that you also have twins. That’s okay though, I get it. I like to give people the space that they need. I’m not an extrovert and I typically do need to find a comfort zone so I respect that about others as well. I do love being a mother of twins (plus 2 older siblings) so please, if you ever see me let’s talk twins or just children in general.

Try to enjoy every second they sure grow up fast.
