Blueberry Pie!

One of my most favorite things about summer is the berry farm that is not too far from our house. I love going there on weekdays and weekends not just to pick berries but to see what they have for sale so that we can have fresh local fruit and veggies in our house. The people are always so nice and they know the regulars by name which makes it even more worth the trip.

Picking blueberries as a family has actually been a tradition for us. We pick, we complain about the heat and we have a contest over who picked the biggest blueberry. This year my oldest daughter, Angela won. We pick blueberries for a blueberry pie that I make once a year, Angela only picked BIG blueberries so of course she was the winner. I had twice as much but she had twice as big. Big, small and half ripe they all tasted good in our blueberry pie! I think the twins spent most of their time petting the farm dog and eating the berries instead of picking them : )
